zanclus canescens or 'moorish idol'

i specifically remember mentioning this
breed of fish to you (and showing you pics)
many months ago because i was going to
create one in paint and make the theme
of this board into it.

its one of my favorites.... and they are
VERY hard to keep alive in any sort of
contained environment (as with most exotic
saltwater breeds).

anyways... there is a really cool pic of
them in my saltwater book that i may consider
scanning... in time.

but i thought you'd like to know.

thats quite a good job they did on that fish!

i think its a cool fish. you should beat the odds and get one for your tank. see if you can get it to survive!

If i could remember when your birthday was, I would get you one! (June 31???)

And get a turtle too.

About the movie....I dont agree. I saw nothing more sadistic in this movie than in any other Disney movie.

Like all Pixar movie, it was clever, funny and well animated.

it has all the qualities of being sadistic...

the opening part was so wholly terrible (no matter
how true to life) that it sets the stage for
other atrocities to occur.

ok.. you can claim that its a reflection of
struggle for man (and not necessarily for fish)...
but cmon! from beginning to end... it was fraught
with tragedy to tragedy... even the *lighthearted*
ending with the fish in the bags... (which i figured
would happen WAAAAAAY ahead of time -- about
them being stuck) may have caused a chuckle
about their delimma... but that in itself is
cruel.

bah...

and anyways... my tank isn't for saltwater.
you have to have a different tank for that kinda
thing. i've been tempted to try my hand at a
saltwater tank... but other things have come
in the way of that happening.

but regardless, saltwater fishes are somewhat
expensive... and its an expensive hobby...
right now, though... i wanna try and get some
decent angelfish and play with my old tank...

but angelfish are hard to come-by in conway...
and even little rock, for that matter...

but this convo does inspire me to clean my
tank....

hmmmm which reminds me.... back to the movie...
i disliked how the creators gave the impression
that having algae in a tank makes it 'dirty'...

shit... when i had zigzag... i tried everything
to get algae to grow... everything!!!
and shutting the filter off will create a mess
in the tank... but it technically shouldn't
create GREEN algae... as seen in the movie.

Ghost Ship starts out like a Disney movie...it was kinda funny considering the conversation we were having before the movie started

Took the kid to see this for his very 1st movie. Not sure if he grasp it all but he watched the whole thing from beginning to end and though we thought it would be scarey at times for him it wasn't. I though have to say once again I FREEKIN HATE MOVIES THAT SHOW PREVIEWS YOU NEVER SEE IN THE FILM!!!!

The clearly show Nemo's dad and the other fish asking for directions and she scares all the fish away and then laffs. But do they show that in the film ??? Hell no. At least they are getting better in that they don't just show you all of (and I mean all) the funny parts before it comes out and then leave ya hanging.

hmmm.... i don't remember that being in the
trailer... but maybe it was. i do know what you
mean about showing clips that do not exist in
the movie... ESPECIALLY when the clips may be
more funny/interesting than the movie itself...
methinks its a new ploy... however, i have seen
some of the 'non-existant' clips turn up on
the special features of a dvd... so you never know.

i did like FINDING NEMO.... i especially liked
how it tried to remain 'true to life' in as far
as the ocean goes.... *feels odd about that*
anyway...
i did find it odd that they had a humpback whale
swimming in the waters off of (and amongst)
sydney, australia....

which reminds me... i'm gonna check up on that

Speaking of whales... that was prolly one of the funniest parts when she starts speaking Whale to the whale. LOL too funny. Or her lack of being able to ever get his name right or remember it.

The dentist office was pretty funny too when the girls screams her head off. But for all different reason. LOL
